The Body is a River: Discovering your inherent fluidity through the Somatic Movement work of Continuum

With Beth Pettengill Riley, MA, RSMET, CYT
Hosted by Brian Siddhartha Ingle, ND, DO

The body is a living process, capable of deep healing, insights, inspirations & experiences. When we engage somatically, through breath, sound & movement, we amplify our body’s inherent health & fluid intelligence. Beth Pettengill Riley shares how Continuum is a movement inquiry through which we directly experience the interconnection of the fluid nature of our own body with the wholeness of life and has been on the forefront of the field of Somatics for over 60 years and vital to the formation of the field and of ISMETA (International Somatic Movement and Therapy Association).

In This Session:

  • All Life is movement - an elaborate constellation of waves & spirals Through fluid movement we are connected to life itself and every aspect of our biosphere, from the furthest stars in the universe, to the molecular spinnings under the skin
  • The human body has been spiraled from living water and is a creative process of unfolding life which we can actively participate with through the somatic awareness of breath, sound and gentle fluid movement, enhancing vitality and health
  • Somatic Movement is a diverse field, growing in scope and application The need for restorative movement is exploding as we face conditions and circumstances of modern life ISMETA is devoted to transforming the world through conscious movement
