Your body holds the keys to resilience, deep healing, and resourcefulness.
Move Into Your Body’s Wisdom
Would you like to move with more freedom in your body, release “stuck” trauma, and liberate yourself from emotional distress?
If the body holds tension and anxiety about the past or future, it can block the flow of wisdom coming in the moment. By tuning in to your body’s innate sensations, you can open up space for healing and growth to emerge.
Deep healing requires us to release trauma and PTSD, and hold space for transformation and unity. Somatic movement is a rich, body-based, self-healing tradition that empowers you to become more aware of your body’s subtle guidance and inspiration.
The Somatic Movement Summit series invites you to strengthen your connection to your body’s innate intelligence as a pathway to greater resilience, flexibility, and vitality. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to conscious movement, you’ll discover a wide range of somatic modalities to expand your awareness and inspire your healing journey.
You can practice powerful rejuvenation techniques during this highly experiential, one-of-a-kind series. Most sessions include 10 to 20 minutes of guided practice to help you connect to your body’s wisdom. Plus, each day will conclude with a 75-minute session featuring a full 30 to 45 minutes of experiential somatic movement practices.
Through a variety of somatics modalities including Hanna SomaticsTM, Feldenkrais®, Body-Mind Centering®, Biodynamic Osteopathy, Continuum Montage, DancemeditationTM, Dynamic EmbodimentTM, Alexander TechniqueTM, and somatic psychology, you can practice alchemizing sensory overload and embody a more grounded, balanced way of living.
If you’ve been operating in survival mode lately, applying somatic movement techniques can help you shift out of the fight-or-flight response. The wide range of speaker panels in this series can help you feel more empowered — physically, emotionally, and socially.
You’ll explore how somatic practices support longevity and vitality, and can also support collective growth by encouraging deeper listening, addressing social justice, and raising global consciousness.
Our somatic experts will guide you through a variety of experiences:
Lavinia Plonka will guide you through a delicious movement process from the KINESATM lexicon that relaxes your spine, while connecting to your emotional center.
Donn Brennan, Lisa Fisher, and Paul Linden, PhD, will host a panel on how to embody peacemaking to raise world consciousness.
Eleanor Criswell Hanna, Brian Siddhartha Ingle, and Donn Brennan will look at how balancing the autonomic nervous system is key for embodying health.
Dr. Ruby Gibson will teach the 5 Steps of Somatic Archaeology to consciously manifest your destiny.
Mia Segal and Leora Gaster will share how to use self-monitoring to integrate thought and action, increasing more presence in your internal processes.
Dr. Martha Eddy will discuss how tracking somatic sensation using the Dynamic Embodiment model reduces anxiety, numbness, and exhaustion.
Suresha Hill will lead a practice on how to reset your body by using movement to release tension, pain, and strain.
Banafsheh Sayyad will dive deep into exploring physicality as awareness to merge into the greater field of consciousness.
Nikki Myers will walk you through a somatic experience to address addiction recovery.
Don Hanlon Johnson, PhD, will show how to express your inner experiences to retain a connection to non-verbal insights.
Anat Baniel will present scientifically proven ways to activate neuroplasticity and positive brain change.
And much more…

Impact: Making a Difference Through Outreach in Ukraine
Our series hosts, who have a strong community in Ukraine, are actively supporting the region through their network of graduates. The Shift Network has made Living Somatics their Impact partner for the Somatic Movement Summit series and will donate a portion of the proceeds from all Premium Upgrades to support this effort.
Living Somatics is mobilizing their network of somatic movement practitioners to serve communities affected by the war with somatic practices and education. This is a population deeply in need of tools for nervous system regulation and psychological and physical relief.
The money raised for this outreach will fund on-the-ground Ukrainian somatic educators to provide free workshops for communities in need. These workshops will teach people how to soothe their nervous systems and find physical ease and freedom at this time of profound stress. The vision is to provide ongoing resources for lasting impact in the region over the coming years.

“To connect with my own stillness, in a space held with such gentle wisdom, was truly special and heart-opening.”
These workshops provided connection to my own somatic healing journey in a way I didn't even realize I needed. To connect with my own stillness, in a space held with such gentle wisdom, was truly special and heart-opening. It reignited and validated all I've learned so far, and opened doors to knowledge that is profoundly personal. Somatics can be applied to everyone's journey with trauma, tension, and expansion.
— Caitlin Kilburn, Cape Town, South Africa
“Thank you for creating this beautiful space of learning.”
This summit is absolutely the one that I most look forward to each year. It reignites my love affair with movement and fills me up! Thank you for creating this beautiful space of learning. It is such a gift that you offer us. I'm already excited for next year!

“The Somatic Movement Summit is inspired.”
The Somatic Movement Summit is inspired. There are many different modalities presented, all with the same outlook. It was interesting to hear my own experience as someone with chronic pain and fatigue, articulated and verbalized. I feel so inspired to continue my own somatic movement path, and I feel better and more relaxed after it.
— Fiona Mae White, Ireland
“The Somatic Movement Summit of 2021 is one of the richest and most moving experiences of my life.”
The Somatic Movement Summit of 2021 is one of the richest and most moving experiences of my life. I will be forever grateful for such an opportunity to delve deeper into somatic awareness. My heartfelt thanks to the generosity of all who have contributed to make this event happen! I cannot amplify the importance of such an event available worldwide enough!
— Claudette Babineau, Sackville, Canada
“I feel privileged to have so many masters’ presentations available right at my fingertips (literally!)”
The incredible vastness of speakers, their experiences, and their personal history in relation to the development of somatics itself — all of these things contributed to an opportunity for learning and development — especially for persons involved in any aspect of physio-psycho work or theory! As a Chinese martial arts instructor whose interest in mind-body therapeutics ranges from Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais to all of my own TaiJi, BaGua, and Qigong training spanning 35 years, I feel privileged to have so many masters’ presentations made available right at my fingertips (literally!)
— Marc Phillip Black, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
“I'm sure everyone who took part carried away much illumination!”
The interviewers were amazing. The presentations were extremely valuable. It's a great blessing to be able to be a part of this Summit experience, and I'm sure everyone who took part carried away much illumination!
— Hiram Roble Orlandi-Cobian, Woodville, Florida

“I highly recommend the Somatic Movement Summit.”
I highly recommend the Somatic Movement Summit. It is free! You can watch livestreams or recordings up to 48 hours post-session. This is helpful for those living overseas and working folks like me! Full of great international speakers. Different approaches, but similar themes of pause/stopping and noticing movement, consciousness raising.
— Caitlin Byrne, Eden, Australia
